Frequently Asked Questions
Find the answers to some common enquires below
How can I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment online via our website, by phone (03) 9670 7041, or by emailing info@flexphysio.com.au. If you would like us to call you back please complete our online form and we’ll happily give you a call to discuss your injury.
What should I expect during my appointment?
For any of our services at Flex, you can expect a comprehensive assessment about your injury or condition so that you can fully explain how it affects you.
Your practitioner will ask questions to help them understand your injury history and health and help form a diagnosis.
Your practitioner will conduct a series of tests to form an objective assessment and will explain their findings to you in terms you can understand.
You will be provided with a diagnosis and treatment plan, and will receive hands on treatment including a home exercise or management plan where appropriate so that you can start your process to recovery. You can expect to feel understood, respected and cared for – we are your team.
How long does an appointment take?
Initial Physiotherapy sessions are 45 mins.
Initial Myotherapy and Remedial Massage consultations are 45 mins or 60 minutes – depending on the areas that you require treatment.
Running Analysis, Initial Clinical Excercise/Pilates and Pregnancy Massage consultations are 60 mins.

Do you have facilities to get changed and store my belongings?
Yes we do – we have on site change rooms, lockers and hanging space to store your clothing and belongings securely.
Do I need a referral?
A medical referral is not required to see a Physiotherapist, Myotherapist or Massage therapist unless you are claiming the injury through a third party provider such as Workcover, TAC or Veterans Affairs. Please do bring any scans including Xrays, MRIs and CTs to your initial appointment.
What are the terms for payment and cancellation?
Payment in full is required at the time of consultation for any service. Cash, EFTPOS, Visa, Mastercard and Amex are accepted.
If you need to make any changes to or cancel your appointment, it is our policy that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice if possible, otherwise a cancellation fee may be applied.
Will my appointment be covered under my private health insurance?
This will depend on your policy. Most policies with extras cover will provide a rebate for Physiotherapy, Clinical Pilates and Myotherapy / Remedial Massage. At Flex Sports Physiotherapy you can process your health claim immediately in the clinic using HICAPS.
Does Medicare cover my treatment?
Medicare does not generally cover Physiotherapy, Myotherapy, Remedial Massage or Clinical Pilates. However, the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) scheme now permits your GP to request up to five subsidise Allied Health services per year on referral. Please discuss this option with either your Physiotherapist or GP.
Do you treat Workcover and TAC patients?
Yes we do, however Workcover and TAC may only partially cover the cost of services at this clinic and patients are required to have a referral from their treating doctor.
All patients are responsible for the full payment of their consultation. You will be provided with a receipt that you can present for reimbursement with your third party insurer.
