Ella Hanna
PhysiotherapistRunner, weekend explorer, lower limb guru.
I’ve always loved being active and playing sport, and have always had a keen interest in how the body works and the biomechanics of movement.
I love working with people who are motivated to achieve their goals and I really enjoy guiding them through their rehabilitation and training programs. The excitement of improvement and progression is so motivating both for the client and for myself as their Physio.
I love working with runners and managing and treating running related injuries as well as ankle, knee and hip conditions. As a runner myself, I understand the requirements of the sport and love talking stats with other runners.
In the clinic, I am responsible for the Running Assessment service which allows me to film our clients on our treadmill and use software to assess their gait and biomechanics, aiming to improve their efficiency and avoid injury.
I find it really rewarding to be able to help people get back to doing what they love or improve their performance in their chosen sport. I love cheering my clients on, and celebrating their success.
During the week away from the clinic you’ll find me running along the Yarra River and various trails and parks, cycling, swimming and playing netball and basketball. On the weekends I like to catch up with friends or escape the city either back home to the family farm or explore areas outside of Melbourne. And of course, the long weekend run and ride!

Clinic Owner | Senior PhysiotherapistMarathon Runner, Yoga and Pilates addict, Flex owner.
Being a Physio combines everything I love – health, exercise and helping people. Improving your pain, getting you moving again, and helping you feel confident and understand your injury really matters to me.
As a teenager, I was a competitive runner and developed a few injuries through training errors. After seeing a Physio, I knew that was the career for me. After graduation, I worked for several years in Australia and the UK, and I later founded Flex Physio in 2008. My goal was to provide comprehensive Physio care focused on manual therapy and exercise, integrating Physiotherapy knowledge with Clinical Pilates to deliver excellent, evidence-based treatment.
It’s an incredible privilege when clients entrust their health and wellbeing to us. I enjoy getting to know each client and love working with them as they move through the different stages of their lives.
I love treating running injuries because I really enjoy helping runners return to doing what they love. As a runner, I know just how amazing it is to run without pain or limitation, and I bring over 30 years of training and racing experience to my Physiotherapy consultations.
I’m also interested in lower back pain, especially in clients who haven’t yet found success in overcoming this problem. The strength I have achieved through Pilates has transformed my running and helped me resolve long term back pain. I’m a huge advocate for Pilates and strength training, and use it extensively in my client’s rehabilitation to help them overcome pain and remain injury free.
Life outside Flex Physio involves running (of course!), being at the beach with my dogs Dexter and Benson, and catching up with friends.

Mariko Davies
Myotherapist | Remedial Massage TherapistCyclist, skier, soft tissue and pregnancy massage aficionado.
Manual therapy is like another language to me, I enjoy following the little clues in peoples bodies to help you move and feel better. With my qualification in Myotherapy, I use massage to ease aches in your muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments. I’m also qualified in dry needling, which uses trigger points to reduce your pain and restore motion.
When I work with a new client, I begin with understanding why your injury has occurred before rehabilitating that area through hands-on manual therapy. I look forward to seeing my regulars and meeting new clients and witnessing your progress towards achieving your goals. Headaches, neck and shoulder issues are an area that I enjoy treating as well as expectant mums - as I know how relieving massage and Myo can be!
My experience covers private practice and the ski fields of Japan. When I’m not at Flex you’ll find me at the gym, cooking, crafting or hanging out with friends and family.
